Body very elongate, cylindrical; tail very short (~ 1/3 of TL), with blunt, skin-covered tip; eye small; front and rear nostrils short tubes, rear nostrils between and above centers of eyes, without associated pores; teeth smooth, slender, sharp; dorsal & anal fins present as low crests near tip of tail.
This tropical Indo-Pacific genus has 2 species, with one Indo-Pacific species in our area.
