Elongate, fusiform body; flat between eyes; snout pointed; lower jaw strongly projecting; teeth minute, no canines, none on roof of mouth; tail deeply forked with pointed tips; dorsal continuous, without notch, X, 10-11; anal III, 8; dorsal and anal with last rays filamentous; pectoral long; scales small, dorsal and anal scaleless.
A tropical Indo-Pacific genus with 2 species, one widespread species occurs in our region.
