Woods' clingfish
Tadpole shaped, head broad, depressed; papillae on head well developed lobe-like, and along center of upper lip; top lip broad, much wider at front than at sides; rear nostril over front edge of eye, front nostril with a simple, unlobed flap; top jaws each with an irregular outer row of pointed teeth, & a patch of irregular teeth behind them, canines along side; teeth of lower jaw in 2 rows, those of outer row much larger, 3 pairs of compressed incisors at front; anus nearer to sucker than to anal fin; sucker large, with papillae at front (a broad band), center (2 widely spaced patches) & rear, with 8-9 rows of papillae across front section, patches in center each with 5-6 longitudinal rows of papillae; a large fleshy pad with free rear edge at base of pectoral fin; dorsal fin 10-13 rays, well behind pectoral; anal rays 10; pectoral rays 21; caudal rays 12.
Brown with reticulum of narrow bluish lines, these may be somewhat thickened on sides to form longitudinal stripes; 4-5 broad, diffuse brownish bars across back; median fins black, with white edges.
Size: to at least 6 cm.
Inhabits rocky shores.
Depth: 0-10 m?
