Blunt-spine barnacle-blenny
Body elongate; short blunt head; head spines weakly developed, in two triangular patches on frontal bones; top of head behind eyes smooth or serrate, but never with spines; spines also present on midline of snout; cirri on nostrils, over eyes (1 pair, bushy), but not on nape; 2 rows of well-developed teeth on side of roof of mouth; dorsal XXIII-XXIV, 14-16; anal II, 24-25; pectoral 13.
Head brownish with numerous small white spots on lower half; body brown on upper half, lower half yellowish, densely spotted with white; a row of dark brown blotches along middle of side and small whitish blotches on upper half of body.
Size: reaches 5.5 cm.
Inhabits empty worm and molluscs tubes on rocky reefs.
Depth: 1-5 m.
Costa Rica to Ecuador.
