Tropical Paleotemperatures

The Paleotropical temperature database wants to provide researchers of several areas with information about the long-term changes in temperature throughout the Cretaceous and Cenozoic based on data compiled from geochemical and morphological proxies. Currently our compilation consists of thousands of points recorded and calibrated into the Gradstein’s et al. (2004) timescale. Our future aim is to continue uploading new paleotropical data.

The compilation up to 2013 was published in Jaramillo, C., and Cardenas, A., 2013, Global Warming and Neotropical Rainforests: A historical perspective: Annual Reviews of Earth and Planetary Sciences, v. 41, p. 741-766.

Datapoints= 3820.
