SANDTIGER SHARKS

Body robust; small round eyes that lack a nictitating membrane; snout flattened, pointed; long, angular mouth; teeth long, slender, curved, 3 rows of large central teeth; five gill slits, none over pectoral; fins relatively short, angular; two dorsal fins of similar size: first slightly larger, with base just behind pectorals, second medium sized, between pelvics and anal; tail fin short, strongly asymmetrical, with short lower lobe.
