CHUB MACKERELS
Body elongate, rounded; fatty eyelid covering almost all of eye; teeth at front and sides of roof of mouth; 2 well separated dorsal fins; 1st dorsal fin VIII-X; 5 finlets after second dorsal and anal fins; pectoral fins high; single short bony process between pelvic fins; 2 small keels (but no large central keel) on tail base; tail fin deeply forked; 1 lateral line; entire body covered with small scales; back with wavy black lines.
A worldwide tropical to temperate genus with 4 species; in our region there is one Pan-Atlantic species.
