Thin-barred goby

Body slightly compressed; head rounded; no head pores; front nostril tubular, rear nostril a raised rim or short tube; teeth at front of mouth in several rows, outer row enlarged; gill membranes broadly joined to body under throat, with 5 rays; dorsal fin VII (I-IV a little elongate) + I, 9; length of 2nd dorsal base > distance from 2nd dorsal base to tail fin; anal fin I, 8; pectoral 18, elongate, pointed, extends to 3rd anal ray; pelvic fins I, 5 completely separate, no frenum between spines or membrane connecting inner rays, rays 1-4 branched once, without fleshy or flattened tips, 5th ray unbranched, ¼  length of 4th, fins extend ¾ way to anus; tail fin rounded; scales absent; no lateral line.

Head and body translucent white, with various thin brownish-orange bars: head with 4 bars, 1 across top well behind eyes, that continues as an oblique bar through eye to front of lower jaw, a bar between eyes, an oblique bar from eye to middle of edge of preopercle, a bar across nape to upper edge of pectoral base; body with 4 long vertical bars, one under 1st dorsal fin, 2 under 2nd dorsal, one down center of tail base; fins translucent white, with broad bright white borders; 1st dorsal with 3 oblique orange-brown stripes, outer stripe broad; 2nd dorsal with 5 oblique orange brown stripes; tail fin with 2-4 vertical orange brown bars, lower 1/5 of fin yellow, with a black margin; anal fin translucent, with blackish margin;  pectoral fin white, top 1/3 brownish orange, that color joins bar across nape.

 Reaches at least  3.6 cm

Lives on rubble bottoms

Depth range 114-250 m

Known only from Curacao and Bonaire, southern Caribbean.
