Cayman greenbanded goby
Elongate, robust; head compressed; a pore midway between front of the two eyes; 2 pores on preopercle; snout pointed, profile straight; teeth in upper jaw in 5-7 rows of small densely packed teeth, outer enlarged and widely spaced, large canines present; teeth in lower jaw in 5-7 rows of small densely packed teeth, several larger canines in median outer row; 2 very large canines along inner rear row; gill membranes broadly joined to body under throat, with 5 rays; dorsal fin VII (1st spine filamentous) + I, 10-11; length of 2nd dorsal base > distance from 2nd dorsal base to tail fin; anal fin I, 9; pectoral fins 20-22; pelvic fins I, 5, disk complete; tail rounded; no scales; no lateral line.
Head pale tan, with a broad red stripe from eye to rear margin of head, that ending in a short orange segment followed by a short blackish segment; body dark green, with 25 (20-28) thin pale green bars.
Reaches: 2.6 cm.
Habitat: lives in association with urchins in coral reef areas.
Depth: 0-10 m.
Known only from the Cayman Is.
