Panamanian Greenbanded Goby
Elongate, robust; head compressed; a pore midway between front of the two eyes; 2 pores on preopercle; snout pointed, profile straight; gill membranes broadly joined to body under throat, with 5 rays; dorsal fin VII (1st spine filamentous) + I, 10 (rarely 12); length of 2nd dorsal base > distance from 2nd dorsal base to tail fin; anal fin I, 9 (rarely 8); pectoral fins 20-21 (19-21); pelvic fins I, 5, disk complete; tail rounded; no scales; no lateral line.
Head pale tan, with a broad red to brownish red stripe from top lip through eye to rear margin of head, that ending in a short orange segment followed by a short blackish segment; body dark green, with 16-23 narrow, pale bright green bars.
Reaches: 2.9 cm.
Habitat: lives in association with urchins in coral reef areas.
Depth: 0-1 m.
Distribution: Currently known only from Panama.
Note: morphologically very similar to T. multifasciatus, and may be more widespread.
