Tenant goby
Body very elongate; steep head profile, snout very blunt; no head pores; top lip connected to snout about same distance as that between eyes; tongue with slight indentation; gill membranes broadly joined to body under throat, with 5 rays; dorsal fin V-VI, (1st 2 spines closer together than remaining spines) + I, 11-12; length of 2nd dorsal base > distance from 2nd dorsal base to tail fin; anal fin I, 9-10; pectoral rays 13 (12-13); pelvic fins form a complete disk; segmented tail rays 17; 3-5 very rough scales along the bottom edge of the tail base, 1 rough scale generally present on side of tail base; no lateral line.
Tan to reddish with numerous small spots on body, spots more densely concentrated on top of head; dorsal and anal fins clear along bottom and with numerous small spots along the outer edges.
Reaches: 1.8 cm.
Habitat: lives inside sponges.
Depth: 13-65 m.
Bahamas to the central Caribbean.
