Bicolored sponge goby
Body elongate, but relatively short; slightly rounded head profile; no head pores; a slight groove between upper lip and snout; tongue with slight indentation; gill membranes broadly joined to body under throat, with 5 rays; dorsal fin V-VII (1st 2 spines closer together than are remaining spines) + I, 10; length of 2nd dorsal base > distance from 2nd dorsal base to tail fin; anal fin I, 8; pectoral rays 13 (13-14); pelvic fins form a complete disk; segmented tail rays 17; scales very rough, 1-2 on sides of tail base and 3-4 along bottom of tail base; no lateral line.
Uniformly dark on top third of body and pale on remainder; fins clear.
Reaches 3.1 cm.
Habitat: found inside sponges, generally barrel sponges.
Depth: 18-41 m.
Bahamas to the central-E Caribbean.
