Fine-cirrus blenny
Body elongate; head thick, short and blunt, without spines; snout with a pair of smooth bony ridges; 1 unbranched short (<eye) cirrus over eye; front of roof of mouth with 5-6 small teeth; 1 row of 6-7 teeth on each side of roof of mouth; dorsal fin XIX-XXI, 10-13, 1st 5 spines of ~equal length, no notch between spines II-V, spiny part lower than soft part; anal fin II, 20-22; pectoral rays 12-13; pelvics I (internal), 3, inserted before pectoral base, much shorter than pectorals; all fin rays unbranched; no lateral line; no scales; no strong differences between sexes.
Preserved fish: light brown; head and front half of body evenly covered with dark dots; head with 3-4 dark spots on preopercle and rear edge of opercle; cheeks pale, rest of head brown; anal fin spines dark, inner ¼ of soft fin brown; front of dorsal fin with dark pigment to its outer edge, that pigment at base of fin from 4th soft ray back; tail, pectorals and pelvics dark brown; tongue and roof of mouth dark
Reaches 2.6 cm.
Lives on reefs - lagoonal patch reefs, dropoffs and oceanic reefs.
Depth range: 1-18 m.
