Habitat
In coral reefs, algae and artificial substrates.

Distribution
Caribbean Sea, Brazil, France, Azores, Sierra Leona, Ghana, South Africa, Madagascar, Japan, Palao Is., Philippines, Australia, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Guam, Hawaii.

Characteristics
White colonies, crowed by spicules. The thorax is almost completely exposed by the wide atrial aperture. There are a short atrial languet, 8-9 stigmata in each row of the branchial sac, two males follicles and the spermiduct is straight.
