Characteristics
This oyster species has a length varying betwen 1.5 and 3 inches. The shell is moderately solid. The posterior margin is rounded and we can see that the wings are strongly notched. The color pattern consists of a brown-purple background with parler brown lines. The interior is pearl gray.
