Habitat
Marine. Appears to be primarily a reef species, found in clear waters. Depth range 3 - 80 m.
Natural History Notes
Feeds on tunicates, alcyonarians, sponges and shrimps.
Characteristics
Spines projecting forward in front of the eyes. Olivaceous with dark polygonal or hexagonal rings submarginally in plates of the body. Can darken, pale and change colours. Juveniles : small round black spots on a yellow background.
