Characteristics
Palm tree that reaches from 1 to 6 m in height. Single trunk. White flowers, fruits oval and reddish orange in color.

ObservationsThe oil from the fruits is used to cook and as a hair product. The grease from the fruits is used to make soap and candles. The fibers that remain after extracting the oils from the fruits are used together with fluff from the base of the leaves to light fires.

FIELDMARK: Canaliculate petioles (1-2 m long) with spinelike teeth on edges.
