Habitat
The species is planktonic and probably cosmopolitan.
Characteristics
With its large corona, bell-shaped body and single, thin toe the species can at first sight be confused with a ciliate. However, after realizing that it is a rotifer, the animal cannot be confused with any species because of its special appearance.
