Related SpeciesAlpheus alpheopsides Coutière, 1905 [IWP]; A. paralpheopsides Coutière, 1905 [IWP]; A. aff. paracrinitus (Anker, pers. obs.) A. bengalensis and A. aff. paracrinitus; it differs from those species mostly by the more slender appendages (including the major chela, see De Man, 1911). It differs from A. alpheopsides by the presence of small orbito-rostral process and longer, more slender rostrum (see Coutière, 1905). All Atlantic and eastern Pacific species, as well as A. aff. rostratus can be distiguished by color patterns and subtle morpholgical features, such as the somewhat more slender major cheliped.
