Cyanthillium cinereum(L.) H. Rob.

Erect herb, less than 75 cm tall (to 150 cm elsewhere); stemsribbed; pubescence whitish, ± appressed, dense except on upperblade surface. Leaves alternate, often with 1 to several smallerleaves on a very short axillary branch; petioles less than 1 cmlong; blades ovate or sub­rhombic, blunt at apex, obtuse atbase and abruptly de­current nearly to base of petiole, 1.5-5cm long, 1-3 cm wide, weakly sinuate-dentate. Flowers in terminalpani­cles; heads discoid, ca 6 mm long, on short slenderpedun­cles; phyllaries in several series, acuminate; rayflowers lacking; disk flowers bisexual, orchid, ca 4 mm long, thecorolla lobes long and slender, spreading at anthesis
